How to install AnyDesk on Ubuntu machines

The post briefs on how to install AnyDesk software on Ubuntu machines in two simple steps.

Step 1 :

Download AnyDesk from official site

Click on “Download Now” will give you different operating system options, choose Ubuntu from the drop down.

  • Debian / Ubuntu / Mint (64 Bit) -> if you have 64 bit Operating system
  • Debian / Ubuntu / Mint (32 Bit) -> if you have 32 bit Operating system

Once you choose the the operating system download starts automatically, if not you can download the software with the link provided in the dialog.

Step 2 :

After the download is complete, for Step2 of install AnyDesk on Ubuntu

go to downloads -> Right click on downloaded anydesk folder -> From the menu that opens choose “Open with Software Install”

the window that opens will have “install’ button, click on install to install the software.

  • Click on ‘Install” button prompts you for password, enter password and the process starts.

After the installation is complete the same window will now show “Remove” button.

click remove button to uninstall

Clicking on “Remove” would uninstall the software from your machine.

This completes the installation and you can close the installation window.

Additionals :

1. To launch

Click on Show applications you should be able to see AnyDesk click on it to launch.

show applications – > AnyDesk – > click to launch.

2. To Uninstall

Click on Show applications look for Ubuntu software and launch it, in the window that opens click on Installed tab the software AnyDesk should be listed here along with a “Remove” button, clicking on which uninstalls the software from you machine.

3. To check Operation system is 32 bit or 64 bit

show application -> in the search bar search for “About” -> and select About – > OS type will be mentioned in the window that opens
